2008 Red Burgundies (Mar 2011)

Medium red. Complex, scented nose combines cherry, raspberry, dried flowers, spearmint and underbrush, along with a sexy element of smoky oak. The sweetest of these 2008s to this point and downright plump for 2008. A wonderfully chewy, tactile, soil-driven wine with sharp definition to its flavors of red fruits, minerals, spices and earth. Showing more weight and palate presence than the grand crus that preceded it in my tasting. Finishes subtle and long, with a great light touch. This will need six or seven years in the cellar.
