2009 Red Burgundies (Mar 2012)

(Dugat’s largest village cuvee): Good full red. Aromas of currant, plum and mocha reminded me a bit of Bordeaux. Fat and sweet, with superripe, almost decadent flavors of cherry, black raspberry, spices and leather. The big tannins reach the front teeth on the long finish, which leaves behind notes of leather and damp earth. Not a particularly refined style but full-blown and imposing for village wine.
