2009 Red Burgundies (Mar 2012)

Good deep red. Captivating, multifaceted nose offers black raspberry, dark cherry, mocha, game, chocolate and a whiff of mint. Very sweet, lush and rich but not at all overripe, with dark fruit flavors complicated by game and earth. Boasts terrific mid-palate texture and length, but comes across as much less open today on the finish than the foregoing samples. The substantial dusty but fine tannins call for a minimum of six or seven years of cellaring.
