2011 Red Burgundies (Mar 2014)

Good medium red. Cool aromas of black cherry, herbs, menthol and spices. Juicy, leanish and tightly wound, offering good cut and energy to its black cherry and herb flavors. In a savory, dry style for a Dugat wine, finishing with edgy tannins. (Incidentally, don’t hesitate to buy Dugat’s 2011 Bourgogne Rouge if you see a bottle; it boasts exotic red fruit aromas and a silky texture framed by brisk acidity. I had it just a point behind Dugat’s village Gevrey.)
