2012 and 2011 White Burgundies (Sep 2013)

Pale yellow-green. Apple, spices and a whiff of caraway seed on the nose. Spicy, silky and on the soft side but with lovely mineral lift to the citrus and crystallized peach flavors. Nicely seamless wine with moderate length. Jacques Montagnon remains the cellarmaster here, with Alix de Montille becoming more involved in the winemaking. She told me that she carried out a cleaner, stricter debourbage in 2012 as she considers the 2012s to be more fragile wines than the 2011s, but I was unable to taste the young ’12s as they were not through their malolactic fermentations.
