2012 Red Burgundies (Jan 2014)

(30% new oak): Bright, dark red. Good sappy lift to the pure aromas of red and black fruits. Juicy and intense, with lovely precision to the dark berry and floral flavors. Finishes with solid, dusty tannins and attractive violet perfume. Rouget finds the new barrel component in this and the Savigny-les-Beaune very apparent today and isn’t sure why.
