2012 Red Burgundies (Jan 2014)

(these vines average more than 50 years of age): Bright medium red. Wild small red berries, gibier and a whiff of underbrush on the sexy nose. Concentrated and sappy, with lovely purity and energy to the chewy flavors of red cherry and saline minerality. This tight, juicy, firmly tannic wine is in a rather masculine, 2010-like style for the vintage. But that’s no complaint!
