2014 Red Burgundies: Delicious Terroir-Driven Midweights (Mar 2017)

Good dark red. Laid-back aromas of currant, raspberry, smoke and earth. Quite dry and classic, with its dark raspberry, chocolate, spice and soil flavors showing a saline complexity if less plushness and sweetness than the 2015 version. Builds nicely on the back end, finishing with rather refined tannins. The crop level here was a reasonable 36 hectoliters per hectare.
