2014 Red Burgundies: Delicious Terroir-Driven Midweights (Mar 2017)

Dark, bright red. Inviting ripe perfume of cherry liqueur, raspberry, strawberry, crushed-stone minerality and earth, plus a whiff of smoky oak. Dense, fine-grained and tactile on the palate, offering lovely breadth along with a distinct mineral firmness and excellent inner-mouth lift to its sharply delineated cherry, raspberry, spice and saline mineral flavors. This rich, very long premier cru finishes with firm, spicy tannins and good medicinal reserve. Already hinting at the sweet fruit to come, this wine has the backbone to expand in the cellar and reward aging.
