2017 White Burgundy: Quantity, Quality and Great Charm (Sep 2018)

(from a lower-altitude site on hard, compact rocky soil adjacent to Sauzet’s holding in La Truffière): Bright pale yellow. Expressive fruit bomb of a nose, offering scents of lemon oil, white peach and hazelnut. Suave in texture but quite dry, even a bit austere, showing good mineral and floral lift. Finishes tactile, lightly saline and persistent, with a note of crushed stone. This appears to be evolving slowly.
