Bordeaux 2010: All That Glitters… (May 2011)

(a blend of 57% cabernet sauvignon, 34% merlot, 7% cabernet franc and 2 % petit verdot; 45% new oak) Bright ruby-red. Intense red cherry, raspberry and floral aromas are complicated by hints of cassis and dried herbs. Then quite fruity on the palate, with a luscious quality to the ripe red and black fruit flavors that suggests late-harvested grapes. Finishes clean and long, with a trace of heat and polished tannins. Quite successful.
