Burgundy New Releases: A Bit of Everything… (May 2020)

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village is much better than the Chambolle-Musigny. Lively red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit burst from the glass, nothing complex but it translates everything you want from a Pinot Noir. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, just a little sappiness in the background. After an hour or so, I notice just a very slight acetic edge on the finish, but otherwise, this will do nicely. – Neal Martin
