Burgundy With A Bit of Age: 2000-2014 (May 2019)

The 2011 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers 1er Cru offers attractive, slightly leafy brambly red fruit on the nose, just a touch of orange pith and crushed rose petals emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannin, hints of brown spice and morels infusing the dark berry fruit that define a composed, nicely weighted if not terribly complex finish. Somehow, this is a “comforting” Chambolle-Musigny. Tasted at Flint Wines Burgundy 2011 tasting.
