Burgundy With A Bit of Age: 2000-2014 (May 2019)

The 2002 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a very attractive bouquet with brambly red fruit mixed with bacon fat (or perhaps more like freshly sliced mortadella), hints of morels emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, the core of red fruit mixed with sea salt and black pepper towards the persistent finish. Superb. Tasted at Sarah Marsh MW’s 2002 Red Burgundy tasting.
