Chile: A Stylistic Journey From the Andes to the Coastal Ridge (May 2021)

Viñedo Chadwick 2019 is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a 3% dash of Petit Verdot from a vineyard planted in 1992 in the Puente Alto region. The wine was 75% aged in new oak and 25% in French foudres. The complex nose has well-defined Maipo character. The 2019 delivers pure aromas of blackcurrant, mint and pepper initially, followed by subtler notes of sweet and sour cherry and hints of hawthorn and jam over a delicate bed of cigar box. In the mouth, the polished Puente Alto tannins lend a measured volume while the freshness is precisely judged and almost juicy, lightening up the flow and stretching out the long, nuanced and elegant finish.
