Digging up a Languedoc Treasure: Mas de Daumas Gassac 1978-2022 (Jul 2024)

After the first bottle was flawed, the second attempt of the 2007 Rouge is delightful. It opens with a hauntingly floral lift and a pinch of bourbon vanilla, followed by cassis and minty undertones. Less earthy compared to the 2005 yet more refreshing, this uplifting Rouge has come together exceptionally well. It’s just at the beginning of its broad drinking window.
