Focus on Barolo and Barbaresco (Nov 2009)

Good full, deep red. Complex aromas of plum, mocha, spices, coffee and dried flowers. Lush, sweet and deep, with more mineral lift than the 2005 version. Finishes quite dry and firm, with good grip and serious tannins that arrive late and build. This wine struck me as the most classically dry of Pio Cesare’s 2006 Barbarescos and Barolos.
