Focus on Oregon Pinot Noir (May 2006)

Medium red. Powerful aromas of ripe cherry, smoked meat and iron gained in power as the wine opened in the glass. Thick and unctuous, with a sweet dark fruit character as well as a degree of oomph that’s atypical for Thomas’s wines. Very intriguing pinot with red and dark fruit flavors, sweet underbrush and tobacco qualities, and a mocha note that builds through the finish. Give this time in a decanter, or a half-decade in the bottle.
