Herding Cats: Burgfest 2020 – The Reds (Oct 2024)

The 2020 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a refined bouquet, beautifully poised with brambly red fruit, hints of sous-bois and incense. This is utterly seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins. It is fresh and quite edgy in style, with marked acidity that lends this tension. Certainly, there are plenty of tannins on the robust finish, a Clos-de-Bèze built for the long haul. It is absolutely divine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
