Herding Cats: Burgfest 2020 – The Reds (Oct 2024)

The 2020 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a little more lift on the nose, dark berry fruit, cola and rose petals. A touch of forest floor percolates through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, red fruit laced with orange rind and a touch of lemon peel. It’s almost flinty towards the finish, quite persistent but strict and linear. It’s not a flattering Grand Cru, but it has no intentions of seducing. Aloof. And that can be a virtue! Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
