Herding Cats: Burgfest 2020 – The Reds (Oct 2024)

The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a strong menthol note on the nose, with aniseed coming through, which detracts from its terroir expression and delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, more opulent than its peers, exotic and “sunny” with a spicy Piedmont-kissed finish. It is enjoyable if dictated by the vintage. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
