Intellect & Senses: Bordeaux With Time (Mar 2025)

The 2002 La Croix de Gay is relatively foursquare and conservative with touches of sous-bois, truffle and cooked meat on the tertiary nose, although it lacks a little vigor. The palate is better than the nose suggests, with supple tannins, an attractive sense of tension and notes of dark cherry, strawberry and dark plum. Linear and conservative on the finish, this is drinking well now. Tasted June 2011. Tasting note taken from the Pomerol book by Neal Martin.
