La Lumière Noire: 2019 Burgundy – Côte de Nuits (Dec 2020)

The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru was completely destemmed this year. It has a vibrant bouquet of black cherries, raspberry coulis and freshly picked roses. There is a purity here that I admire. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and quite corpulent yet retaining definition on the finish, and leaving cracked black pepper on the aftertaste. This could turn out to be one of Drouhin-Laroze’s best 2019s.
