Looking The Part: Pichon-Baron 1953 – 2015 (Jan 2019)

The 2013 Pichon-Baron has a light, scorched earth and graphite bouquet that clearly does not possess the fruit intensity of other vintages, though there is no sign of any greenness. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, moderate depth, clean lines and a touch of mineralité popping up on the finish. A delightful Pichon-Baron, and certainly one of the better wines of the vintage. Tasted at the Pichon-Baron vertical at the château.
