New Releases from Australia, Part 2 (Sep 2007)

Dark red. Spicy red- and blackcurrant aromas lifted by dusty herbs and licorice. A solidly structured midweight with redcurrant and cherry flavors and a firm tannic spine. This tightly wound cabernet slowly revealed a sweeter character with air and finished with tangy, tannic grip. Not for those who demand lavish fruit and supple texture in their Australian (or any) wines, but I’d bet on this rewarding another five-plus years of cellaring.
