Now, For My Latest Trick: Burgundy 2022 (Jan 2024)

The 2019 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with mainly red berry fruit intermixed with clove and white pepper. There is something a little Rhône-like about the fruit profile. The palate is well-balanced and less tannic than recent vintage, with moderate grip. It is slightly savory in style, and I’m seeking a little more brightness on the finish. This is one where I prefer the 2018 by direct comparison.
