One Night in Taipei: Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 1995-2017 (Jun 2025)

The 2007 Richebourg Grand Cru is a bit of a comedown after the '04. It looks more mature than '04 for a start. It begins well with an attractive nose, a mixture of red and black fruit, iris flower and a subtle estuarine scent. Modest delineation. The palate lets it down, light and meagre for a Richebourg, comparatively simple with tart red fruit. It attenuates towards the finish that feel a little dry, especially after the '00 and '04. Keep expectations modest. Tasted at the Richebourg vertical dinner in Taipei.
