Red Burgundy ’16 & ’15: Superb Vintages, Different Styles (Jan 2018)

(25% vendange entier; includes estate fruit as well as purchased grapes from vines worked by Drouhin): Medium red. Slightly medicinal aromas of black cherry, menthol and mint. Juicy, firmly built and energetic, in a distinctly dry style. A bit tannic and reticent for young village wine but finishes with good length. I suspect that this wine could be carafed and then serve chilled for its youthful fruit, but I’d rather wait a couple years.
