Southwold: 2016 Bordeaux, Ten Years On

The 2016 Malescot Saint-Exupéry has a refined bouquet with blackberry and bilberry fruit, well defined with neatly integrated oak, though there is a little brettanomyces that emerges in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, not powerful but fresh and classic in style, with a touch of sour cherry and tobacco on the finish. Fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.
