The 2001 Red Burgundies at Age 15 (Apr 2017)

(I tasted the cuvée classique): Full medium red. Sexy but reticent nose suggests red berries and earth. Plush, full, broad and deep; not especially expressive but shows some high-toned raspberry and cherry fruit. Boasts superb volume but turns a bit chunky, even aggressive, on the back end, finishing with an earthy nuance and substantial chewy, savory tannins. Ready to drink but not at all a sweet style.
