The 2012 Red Burgundies from Bottle (Mar 2015)

(from a crop level of about 30 hectoliters per hectare, according to Trapet): Moderately saturated medium red; seemed to take on color with air. High-pitched, tight nose offers enticing perfume of raspberry, cherry and flowers. Juicy and sharply delineated, displaying terrific purity and inner-mouth perfume to its tangy red fruit and floral flavors. At once silky and taut, this terrific wine struck me as like a slightly softer version of the 2010. This parcel includes the domain’s oldest vines, planted at a density of 12,700 per hectare (0.8 by 0.8 meter).
