The 2014 White Burgundies: What’s Not To Like? (Sep 2016)

(no new oak): Bright lemon-yellow color. Ripe aromas of mandarin orange, flowers, menthol and wet stone, plus an element of smoky oak. Round, ripe and fairly full on the palate, with enticing peach and orange flavors given definition and thrust by strong but harmonious acidity. With its crushed-rock minerality and youthful tightness, there’s nothing particularly easy about this wine today. But it has the stuffing and structure to evolve gracefully.
