The 2014 White Burgundies: What’s Not To Like? (Sep 2016)

(this parcel is planted in redder soil in a combe, where grape sugars mount quickly): Bright yellow. Inviting aromas of peach, lemon drop and flowers. Nicely balanced and easygoing; distinctly more open-knit than the Vergers, despite the fact that this wine is from much older vines. Finishes firm, long and a bit dusty. This struck me as like a better version of Moreau’s village wine, but with its minerality in the background in the early going.
