Good red-ruby color. Brooding aromas of black fruits, violet, licorice and toasty, smoky oak. Slightly reduced and rather musclebound, with flavors of crushed black fruits. But this has more stuffing than the Chasse-Spleen I tasted next to it, as well as finer tannins and more lingering sweetness. Late notes of cassis and licorice. This is the type of 2003 that may well put on weight and gain pliancy through its elevage
