The Consistently Delectable 2014 Red Burgundies (Jan 2016)

(this fruit was picked later than the Vigne au Saint and was vinified with 10% whole clusters): Bright red with ruby tones. Distinctly wilder on the nose than the Vigne au Saint, offering scents of cherry, raspberry and animal fur. At once juicier and deeper, displaying terrific flavor intensity and inner-mouth perfume but kept tight by sound underlying minerality. Méo finds this wine less strict than usual but it will still need at least four or five years of aging upon release.
