Washington Turns Up the Heat (Nov 2015)

Bright, dark red. Wild, northern Rhône-like aromas of raspberry, cherry, charred meat, lavender, black pepper, wild herbs and spices. Fine-grained and sweet, with lovely primary red berry fruit complicated by herbs, spices, dried flowers and a balsamic quality. Very sexy wine with a broad but weightless finish featuring a fine dusting of tannins, a late note of black olive and lovely lingering perfume. This will be better in a couple years but it’s already a fascinating drink.
