Bordeaux 2010: The Dry Wines (Aug 2011)

Light yellow-gold color. Restrained, subtle aromas of citrus skin, herbs and honey. Silky and pliant, with sound acidity framing the bright flavors of orange blossom, green fig and melon. Finishes smooth and persistent.

Bordeaux 2010: The Sweet Wines (Aug 2011)

Dense, pure and very intense, with electric acidity giving terrific lift to the botrytis-rich flavors of banana flambé, ginger and ripe mango. The finish is remarkably clean and long, with chewy tannins. A very impressive Coutet, though it strikes me, in perfect 2013…

The 2013 Coutet has an attractive nose with dried honey, frangipane, rosewater and orange pith scents, blossoming nicely in the glass like a bashful child suddenly discovering their singing voice. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, lightly spiced marmalade and tangy apricot laced with white pepper on the finish. Impressive in terms…
