Life Is Funny Like That: 1999 & 2015 DRC (Apr 2018)

The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru was cropped at 25.70hl/ha and picked on 12 and 14 September. It has an engaging bouquet that offers a mixture of red and blue fruit, perhaps more floral than I have discerned in previous vintages, hint of crushed violet surfacing after 10 to 15 minutes in the glass. As sharply delineated as this classy Echézeaux…

1982 Bordeaux, 20 Years On (Jul 2002)

Full, deep red. Flamboyant aromas of red berry liqueur, earth, truffle and exotic woodsmoke. Hugely sweet and fat, with great ripeness and opulence and marvelous chewy depth. Finishes with huge but ripe tongue-dusting tannins and fabulous persistence. Drink 2005 to 2025.
