Northern Rhône: 2016 and 2017 Reds (Sep 2019)

Inky ruby. Intensely perfumed aromas of black and blue fruit preserves, exotic spices, cured tobacco, olive and potpourri are given vivacity by a smoky mineral nuance. 2012 and 2011 Northern Rhone Wines (Mar 2014)

Inky purple. Powerful, deeply pitched aromas of singed plum, blackberry, licorice pastille and Indian spices, with an accent of candied flowers. The floral element comes back strong on the finish, which is firmed by smooth, slow-building tannins. Shows the…

2006 and 2005 Rhone Valley Wines (Jan 2008)

Opaque ruby. Sexy, hugely fragrant bouquet evokes raspberry, blackberry and kirsch, with a suave floral quality adding complexity. Very sweet flavors of red and dark fruit liqueur lead to silky tannins and a long, sappy finish. This is awfully seductive right now.

Northern Rhône: Solid ’14 Reds and Outstanding ’15 Whites (Jul 2017)

Sweet black raspberry, blueberry and spicecake flavors show impressive depth and pick up floral and smoky mineral qualities with aeration. Displays excellent clarity on the gently tannic, persistent finish, which features a lingering blue fruit note.

Here the dusty tannins are a bit less ripe and there’s a hint of greenness on the finish, which also features notes of…

2006 and 2005 Rhone Valley Wines (Jan 2008)

Stunningly fragrant bouquet of fresh red berries, cherry, minerals, Asian spices and fresh flowers; with its combination of power and purity, this smells like a Musigny. Deeply concentrated raspberry and cherry flavors are complicated by anise, cinnamon and floral pastille, with big but interwoven tannins adding grip. Finishes…
