1995 and 1994 Bordeaux (May 1996)

1994 Figeac (the final blend represents a 60% selection in ’94, vs. a projected 80% in ’95): Medium color. Aromas of spicy oak, game and tobacco; even cooler than the above wine. Vinous Table: Chave Hermitage Vertical at Ristorante Morini, New York (May 2014)

Five Vertical Tastings (Jul 1999)

Medium red. Expressive aromas of roasted plums, redcurrant, minerals, coffee, leather, animal fur and spice. Supple and suave in the mouth, with notes of rust and brown spices. Quite fresh and inviting. Finishes with subtle, mounting fruit and very fine tannins.

Bordeaux 2011: Tales of Tannins and Terroir (May 2012)

Bright medium ruby-red. Ripe aromas of blackberry, violet and roasted oak. Suave on entry, then firm and minerally in the mid-palate, with good definition to its perfumed dark fruit and cocoa flavors. Comes across as pliant despite its brisk acidity and serious tannins. Good ripeness on the finish.

2016 Bordeaux…It’s All In The Bottle (Jan 2019)

The 2016 Langoa Barton is succulent, racy and inviting, with striking textural richness and depth. Ripe dark plum, tobacco, cedar, licorice and spice are all generous in this racy, pliant Saint-Julien. The 2016 is an especially fine edition of Langoa-Barton and one of the sleepers of the vintage.
