What Nectar!! Suduiraut 1899-2015 (March 2019)

The 2003 Suduiraut has a strange bouquet with melted wax, quince and wet wool aromas, rather smudged and becoming Aszú-like with time in the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry and starts well. It is missing some precision, a little spicy in style however, the warmth of the growing season erodes…

Chianti Classico 2013 & 2012: The Luck of the Draw (Sep 2015)

The 2012 Tignanello is deep, rich and voluptuous, yet also retains a distinct element of classicism in its focused, mid-weight structure. Enters the mouth full and ripe, then turns leaner and tougher, with juicy red berry and spice flavors framed by soft acidity. Clearly a warm-vintage wine,…

An exotic wine that captures the essence of the year, the 2011 is endowed with magnificent complexity, nuance and class. The silky, polished finish makes the 2011 incredibly appealing today, but the wines from…

2004 and 2003 Red Burgundies (Mar 2006)

Jammy, roasted red berries, smoked meat and a suggestion of candle wax on the nose. Fat, sweet and exotic, with a mouthfilling redcurrant flavor. Not quite heavy but distinctly jammy. But this has good backbone.
