Bryant’s Cabernet Sauvignon: 1994-2014 (May 2017)

Good deep red. Classic claret-like Cabernet aromas of redcurrant, cured tobacco, licorice and olive. In a distinctly salty, dry style, with its berry flavors enlivened by spices and fresh herbs. Finishes with a serious dusting of fine-grained tannins. Clearly a product of a cool El Niño growing season but a very successful wine in its…

There’s something almost magically…

Horizontal Tasting of Napa Valley’s 2004 Cabernets (Jun 2015)

(15.6% alcohol): Good deep red. Rather exotic nose combines scents of hard candy, wild sage, iron, burning embers, cayenne and tangerine; more red than black in character.Lush, seamless and sweet in the mouth but not as deep as the Cariad. Finishes broad and a bit soft, with substantial dusty tannins.
