The 2014 & 2013 White Burgundies (Sep 2015)

Totally different on the nose than the estate’s premier crus in 2014, offering aromas of yellow plum, musky stone, gunflint and honey. Shows a honeyed, spicy sweetness in the middle palate but finishes with a dry edge. A second barrel was more reduced and in need of a racking. Hard to assess with confidence today…

(the highest in alcohol of these 2015s along with the Morgeot, at 13.6%): Bright yellow. Deep, very ripe aromas of yellow fruits, flowers and honey. Opulent, silky and sweet, conveying a strong impression of dusty extract, but penetrating lemony acidity gives the wine a slightly disjointed quality today as well as a touch of bitterness….
