2007 and 2005 Sauternes and Barsacs (Jul 2008)

Bright, pale yellow-gold. Aromas of very ripe peach, honey and vanilla are a bit youthfully disjointed. Sweet, supple and fat, currently showing more spice than fruit. Finishes broad and spicy, with a suggestion of minerality.

Full red-ruby. Aromas of redcurrant, tobacco, spices and earth, with a slight roasted aspect. Sweet, fat and warm with alcohol; loaded with fruit but could use a bit more definition. Finishes with some free-floating acidity.

1982 Bordeaux, 20 Years On (Jul 2002)

Moderately saturated medium red. Aromatic nose of leather, coffee grounds and current leaf, with a distinct green component. Then firm but a bit hollow, with a sour quality and a green edge on the end. Avoids hardness but gives little pleasure.

The 2019 Champagne Summer Preview (Jul 2019)
