2005 and 2004 Rhone Valley Wines (Jan 2007)

Bright purple. Fresh, mineral-driven red berry aromas are clear and spicy. Snappy red fruit flavors display striking freshness and purity, with a very light tannic bite on the back. This has excellent verve.

Tropical fruit, hazelnut, honeysuckle and orange peel give the 2015 a decidedly exotic feel. The Mount Eden Chardonnay is typically a bit more tense in style,…

Opaque purple. Powerfully scented nose offers ripe dark berry liqueur, vanillin oak, Asian spices, cola and floral oil. Broad, velvety and sweet, with weighty blackberry and boysenberry flavors, subtle tannins and a wallop of candied vanilla on the back. Almost too big for the mouth, finishing with serious cling and persistence. Impressive for sure, but…
