Deep red-ruby. Enticing aromas of roasted plum, currant, graphite and smoky oak. Precise, spicy and juicy; more herbal than the 2002 or 2003 but also very intensely flavored and not at all hard. This very long, pure Latour seems to be shutting down today.

Deep, bright ruby-red. Sexy, ripe aromas of currant, black plum, raspberry, smoked meat, mocha, jasmine, black olive and earth. Smooth in texture but vinous and bright, with a penetrating character to the flavors of plum, currant, mocha and tobacco. 2006, 2005 and 2004 Bordeaux (May 2007)

Deep red-ruby. Aromas of cassis, plum, licorice and coconutty oak. Round, suave and ripe, with lovely depth of flavor and a pliant, full texture for the year. This doesn’t have quite the thrust of the 2006, but it’s lively and fresh, and finishes ripely tannic and long.

Moderately saturated red-ruby. Captivating if cooler nose of blackcurrant, licorice and minerals. Very intensely flavored and gripping if currently quite tight. 2000, 1999 and 1998 Bordeaux (May 2001)

Bright ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of cassis, violet, bitter chocolate and licorice. Tightly wound, intensely flavored and on the lean side, with extremely primary flavors of cassis and dark chocolate. Not showing its flesh today, but this has good underlying density and pliancy. Finishes with toothdusting, fine tannins.
