The 2012 Red Burgundies from Bottle (Mar 2015)

Full medium red. Captivating aromas of redcurrant, spices, iron and tobacco lifted by a note of rose petal. Juicy, spicy and sharply delineated, showing surprising energy if not quite the depth of the Suchots. The red fruit and spice flavors are still quite tightly wound. Finishes with a serious tannic spine and excellent persistence.

The 2012 Red Burgundies from Bottle (Mar 2015)

Bright medium red. Ripe, alluring aromas and flavors of wild strawberry, raspberry and earth. Sweet, fine-grained and enveloping, showing lovely energy and density and still holding its fruit in reserve. Finishes fresh and firm-edged, with full, fine-grained tannins and excellent length.

2012 Red Burgundy: Against All Odds (Jan 2014)

A bevy of floral and spice notes meld into dark red fruit, cedar and new leather in the 2012 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots. Rich and expressive yet also weightless in the glass, the 2012 impresses for its contrasts and multiple dimensions of pure class. The airy finish is all class.

This is certainly fresh but I wish there was more substance towards…

2011 Red Burgundies (Mar 2014)

(100% vendange entier; 13.2% with a bit of chaptalization): Medium red. Highly complex nose combines wild dark berries, smoky herbs, brown spices, leather, rust and pepper. Suave, elegant and fine-grained; a lovely silky midweight with perfumed notes of iron, rust, olive, wild herbs, spices and pepper. Finishes with very good spicy length. This can be…

2011 Red Burgundies (Mar 2014)

Good medium red. Lovely floral lift to the aromas of black raspberry, licorice and spices. Fine-grained and light on its feet; seamless, precise and energetic, with enticing inner-mouth perfume to the dark flavors of blackberry, cassis, and violet. Sneaky density and depth. Finishes vibrant and very long, with suave tannins. A beauty.
