Chianti Classico and Beyond – New Releases (Sep 2014)

The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva Bucerchiale comes across as rustic and rough around the edges, with less of its customary balance. Hints of leather, smoke, cedar and tobacco emerge over time, but the 2010 never seems to come together.

Bright red. Captivating perfume of raspberry, red cherry, almond paste, graphite, licorice and meat. At once dense and precise, displaying superb fruit concentration and considerable power. Finishes rich and long, with big, ripe, chewy tannins and a strawberry syrup nuance.

2008 and 2007 Red Burgundies (Mar 2010)

Good medium red. Ripe cherry, smoke and chocolate on the nose. Silky, lush and aromatic in the mouth, with captivating flavors of red fruits and chocolate. Wonderfully suave, vibrant wine with considerable charm. Expands impressively on the back end, finishing long and perfumed. A lovely Volnay.

Sumptuous aromas of dried apricot, blackberry and oyster shell, complicated by a smoky, herbal character. Dense passion fruit and finely polished minerality animate the palate. Rich, elegant and spicy on the persistent finish, this will certainly improve with bottle age.
