2001, 2000 and 1999 Bordeaux (May 2002)

Very good medium ruby. Aromas of blackberry, violet and mint. Juicy and firm, with good density and restrained sweetness. Has a pliant texture over a firm underlying spine. Flavors of blackberry, violet and bitter chocolate. Finishes with ripe, firm tannins.

Bordeaux 2019: The Southwold Tasting (Feb 2023)

The 2019 Pontensac has an open-knit red cherry and crushed strawberry scented nose that conveys joie-de-vivre. The palate is sweet on the entry, fleshier than expected, a little oaky and missing a bit of grip on the finish. Like the 2019 Le Boscq, this is early drinking, but does the job. 2019 Bordeaux from Bottle: The Two Towers (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Potensac is fabulous. Bright and focused, the 2019 impresses with its energy, balance and total class. Crushed flowers, mint, cinnamon, crushed rocks and blood orange all open in the glass. The 2019 is class personified I love the purity here. The 2019 is a standout, and should be a terrific value, too.

The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite plush and showy with a touch of white pepper on the finish. This should age well in bottle although it fails to replicate its deeply impressive showing after bottling. Tasted…

2019 Bordeaux from Bottle: The Two Towers (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Carbonnieux has turned out beautifully. All the elements come together in a deep, textured Pessac-Léognan that is an absolute delight to taste today. Wild cherry, licorice, mocha, dried herbs, orange peel, mint and spice give the 2019 gorgeous layers of nuance. There's wonderful depth here and plenty of staying power too.

2019 Bordeaux from Bottle: The Two Towers (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Corbin has come together beautifully with élevage. Succulent black cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and licorice all flesh out, giving this succulent Saint-Émilion tons of energy and sheer appeal. Attractive floral and savory accents linger on the close.
