Deep red. Perfumed scents of red and dark berry preserves and peppery spices carry a pungent floral overtone. Sweet and focused on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and lavender pastille flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. The berry and floral notes repeat on a slightly rigid finish framed by dusty, slow-building tannins.

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is more backward and a little earthier in style on the nose, with apple blossom and light flinty scents. The palate is well balanced, cohesive and persistent with touches of orange rind and sour lemon giving way to a spicy, stem ginger-tinged finish. Very fine.

The 2023 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a lovely, finely delineated bouquet with wilted rose petal infusing the cranberry and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a pastille-like red fruit, gentle grip and a liberal sprinkling of black pepper on the Pommard-like finish.
